It’s nothing but high praises for local Grand Rapids company Pridgeon and Clay.
Named “Automotive Supplier of the Year” at the Michigan International Auto Show by the Grand Rapids New Car Dealers Association, Pridgeon and Clay were chosen for its innovative approach to the auto industry.
“Through a strong commitment to innovation and a solid research and development team, Pridgeon and Clay has become a well-recognized and respected name in the international automotive world, with products on nearly every vehicle produced in North America,” said Blair Sharpe, president of the Grand Rapids New Car Dealers Association.
With beginnings similar to those of a certain “fruit” enterprise in Silicon Valley, Pridgeon and Clay, a Grand Rapids-founded company, was formed in 1948 by partners John Pridgeon and Donald Clay. With 20 employees in a converted garage, the business was born.
Today, the company has a workforce of 840 in West Michigan making 3,000 different metal stampings and “fine-blanked” parts totaling 92 million finished goods. These parts produced at the Grand Rapids plant range from end caps for batteries to exhaust systems, brakes, and chassis. A global supplier to the auto industry, some of the company’s pieces can be found on the Ford Mustang, Ford F-series, Chevy Cruise, and Chevy Volt.
We at Pfeiffer Plainfield Used Cars wish Pridgeon and Clay congratulations on the achievement and look forward to the many new innovations the GR based company will formulate in the future.
