The end of the year is jam-packed with holidays and celebrations; that’s why it is the favorite season for many people. We all love decorating our houses and yard with spooky items for Halloween and brightly colored lights and festive ornament for Christmas, but many of us are at a loss for Thanksgiving.
If you want to add more than just pumpkins to you house in November, here are a few unique ways to decorate for Thanksgiving.
- Thankful Tree. Find a well-shaped small branch with arms from your yard and place it in container. Cut leaf shapes out of some construction paper and tell your guests that they can write things they are thankful for on the leaves and then hang them on the tree.
- Pinecone Turkey. This is a great craft for young kids to make. Gather some large pinecones to create the turkey’s body. Have the kids cut out shapes for the turkey’s feathers, head, and front of his body. Glue the body shapes onto one end of the pinecone and stick the feather into the pinecone spaces.
- Glass containers. Fill large glass containers with the colors of fall. Things like unshelled nuts, leaves, beans, dry corn, dried flowers, or ribbons will do the trick.
