August may seem a little early to be getting ready for Halloween hype, but for those of us interested in ghosts or just looking for a good scare, the Ghosts of Grand Rapids walking tours have now opened for their 2016 season. Starting at Veteran’s Memorial Park, the tour will take guests through the downtown area and tell spooky stories of the alleged hauntings in various buildings you pass during the tour.
Tickets are available online for $10 a person. The event first began on August 13th, but will continue every Saturday until October 28th; the tour itself runs from 8 PM to 10 PM. Each tour guide will be dressed as a figure from Grand Rapids’ past to tell you ghost stories regarding several buildings, from the legend of the AT&T building, to the Ashton Building’s curse, to the tragedy of the Pantlind Hotel and more. The tour itself is also based on the Ghosts of Grand Rapids book, so if you want to do your research ahead of time, pick up a copy!
As the area transitions into autumn and gets closer to October, more and more haunted attractions will pop up — but for those who want to jump into Halloween early, the Ghosts of Grand Rapids tour will be sure to help get you in the mood for the spooky season. Check out ticket availability on the website and reserve a spot today.
