Studies show that when it comes to buying a car, shoppers want reliability more than anything else. Cars.com puts together an annual list, Worry-Free Index, to help car shoppers find the best cars on the market—and it should come as no surprise that Toyota and Lexus vehicles were recently named to the top of the 2015 Worry-Free Index.
The index measures things like repairs, maintenance, reported reliability, warranties, and even cost. According to the study, the best car on the market is the 2015 Toyota Avalon Hybrid. Thanks to incredible reliability, cheap repair costs, and an affordable price, the Avalon Hybrid is the car you want if you’re looking for something worry-free.
“If the prevalence of automotive reliability and dependability studies are any indication, consumers care a lot about how well their cars will hold up. It’s easy to see why: The average car on the road is a record 11.5 years old, according to IHS Automotive. That’s more than enough time for an unreliable choice to ravage your finances,” said Kelsey Mays, auto writer for Cars.com.
Other models on the list included the Lexus ES 300H (2nd), the Lexus RX 350 (4th), Lexus ES 350 (6th), Toyota Avalon (7th), Tundra (8th), Highlander (9th), and Prius (13th). Overall, the index rates the top 15 models in the world.
